Kelli Herbert - continued
Kelli -
A close friend referred me to Hallmark. Between my professionalism, background in marketing and promotions and her referral, I was offered the position with Hallmark. This job came up unexpectedly, but fit perfectly in my short-term goals. I wanted to work in a sales capacity and this was a perfect opportunity for me to accomplish that. After eighteen short months on the job, I survived the cut through two major reorganizations. This isn't exactly the economy that you want to be unemployed in.
M2H - You seem to be a very upbeat woman. Do you ever have a bad day?
Kelli - Everyone has a bad day at some point and believe
me, I've had my share.
There are days when I am absolutely overwhelmed with all of the things that I have going on in my life, and all I can think it that here just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish all of the things that I want to accomplish. However, I have found that making lists, scheduling my time and sometimes cutting back on outside activities has been the most effective solution for me. Lists help to keep me focused, on track and productive. Without them I would forget half the things that I planned to accomplish.
On the other hand I realize that it's important to take time out for me. There is nothing like spending the day at a spa from time to time…I always feel so relaxed and refreshed. Or something simple like reading a good book, taking a bubble bath, enjoying a nice glass of wine or spending the day with someone special.
M2H - Has your family helped you become who you now are?
Kelli - I wouldn't be where I am today with out the unconditional love and support of my family and friends. So many people have played the role in making me who I am today…Family, friends, teachers, coaches, etc. But I have to say that out of them all…My mom has been the most influential. She has always done everything in her power to make sure that I had everything that I could ever need or want. She was always there to love, support and encourage me in everything that I did. I can honestly say that she dedicated her life to my brother and I and then to her parents as they became ill in their golden years. She's an incredible woman and I thank her for who I am today.
